Slides were once the best way to capture and share life's biggest moments. Now they need a little help getting into the modern world — and that's exactly what we do. At The Camera Shop in St. Cloud, MN, we professionally scan 35mm slides, carousels, and medium-format transparencies into crisp, high-resolution digital files. Your originals never leave our lab, and every slide is air-cleaned before scanning to get the best possible image.

35mm slides are the most common format we see. Each scan is approximately 4496×3000 pixels — high enough resolution for large prints or digital sharing.

We scan from standard Kodak-compatible carousels (80 or 140 count). Don't have carousels? You can rent them from us — just ask when you bring your slides in.

Dust, lint, and light scratches are common on stored slides — we use an air cleaning process before scanning. Heavily damaged slides can often still be digitized and restored.

How to prepare your slides for scanning:

• This one's pretty easy: bring them to us in the order you'd like them scanned with proper notes.
• If your slides are in standard Kodak Carousel Trays (80 slots) and they are marked, we will keep them in that order.
• If you have them in boxes or loose, and you want them scanned in a specific sequence, please number the slides in sequence.
• We check all slides for the proper orientation before scanning, so you do not need to worry about this in the preparation stage.

We keep your treasures safe and local.

We never recommend shipping away family archives, treasured photos, and irreplaceable home movies. It's too risky. The Camera Shop + The Print Refinery has been professionally preserving memories with archiving and scanning services in the St. Cloud, Minnesota area for over 40 years.
